• 100 year old picture of Hitler playing chess with Lenin on sale

chess_1474122c.jpg Adolf Hitler playing chess against Vladimir Lenin is an extraordinary picture which has recently been put on sale. Mullock's auction house in Ludlow, Shropshire is auctioning this picture on first of October. The image of Hitler playing chess with Lenin apparently has been created in Vienna by Hitler's art teacher, Emma Lowenstramm. The picture also has the signatures on the reverse of the two dictators. The two items would cost around $ 65,570.

In 1909 Hitler was a jobbing artist and Lenin was in exile. The house where they played the game belonged to a prominent Jewish family. During the Second World War the Jewish family fled and gave many of their possessions to their housekeeper which also included the etching and chess set. The housekeeper's great-great grandson is now selling the image and the chess set at auction.
