Strange things have been sold on ebay. Wondering what the flavour of the week is this time? David Piper's lifestyle. You might have heard of him from when he hit the news in 2002 for placing a lonely hearts advertisement in the International Herald Tribune, seeking a soulmate with a sense of humour. Or a more drab picture of him is that of a 58 year old entrepreneur, who is Lord of the manor of Warleigh. So, he has decided to bid his lifestyle on ebay as he will be moving to London for treatment related to his advanced prostate cancer. His lifestyle includes a whole lot of very profitable assets. One is the single lot near Plymouth, Devon which is going for £10,000 when the original estimated price was £6 million. Also included in the auction are six acres of freehold land at Great Warleigh Farm, Tamerton Foliot, near Plymouth. That is not all, it also has his family trust's 140 items of contemporary art. The lot also includes a "waterside residence" on Plymouth Hoe, featuring nine en suite rooms, a 42-foot sitting room with views towards the Channel, and a 42-foot dining room. Wow, who ever buys this is going to lead one luxurious life. I doubt Mr. Piper would give it up if he had all liquid money that he owes people.
The kicker here is that Mr. Piper is going to introduce the purchaser of the manorial title to "some of the potential ladies" subject to their agreement. Tempted?
