Marilyn Monroe’s green dress auctioned off for half a million dollars

The famous blonde bombshell Marilyn Monroe had said that the ‘River of no Return’ was the worst movie she had ever made. But that definitely did not stop one private collector from buying the awe-inspiring dress she wore in the song ‘’I’m Gonna File My Claim’ for $504,000! The green velour dress really stood out in the 1954 Western classic in which she played Kay Washington, a gambler’s wife.

Although the film received a lukewarm response when released, the critics stated that the best part of the movie was the charismatic screen presence of Miss Monroe. Julien’s Auctions house in China made another big deal with the sale of the most memorable and famous white dress worn by Marilyn Monroe in ‘The Seven Year Itch’ for $4.6 million this summer.
