• Picasso’s painting of his mistress will go under the hammer at London

    Pablo-Picasso-painting-of-his-mistress-Jeane-fille-endormie.jpg Sotheby’s will be putting some interesting German Art under the hammer soon at London, along with some rare Picasso paintings. The highlight of the auction will be a rare painting by Picasso, title "Jeane fille endormie", for £9 million ($15 million) to £12 million ($20 million) that shows his mistress, Marie-Therese Walter dozing on her folded arms. Marie-Therese Walter inspired Picasso paintings are said be quite a hit with the Russians.

    The entire lot is estimated to $99 million, of which $78 million is accounted by 59 German art pieces dated to the 1960s and 1970s, which are a part of German industrialist Christian Duerckheim collection which haven’t been on sale for over 30 years.
