Christmas is here and we know people tend to get rather extravagant during this time. But Alex Goodhind has taken extravagance to a new level even in these times of financial failure. He must've invested his money rather well. This 24-year-old IT manager takes extra effort in making sure that his home is a spectacle of Christmas spirit. 14th year in a row he has set up his home in Melksham, Wiltshire into a dazzling lights affair. There are over 115,000 bulbs, which stay lit till 10 p.m. every evening. It costs him $44,170 to make sure Longford Road bathes in the warm glow of all the lights. However, it isn't exactly conserving energy.
It uses up such a large amount of electricity that Alex has gotten a power company to install an industrial sized cable outside the house to run it independently. All I can say is 'Wow'. I'd love to stop by his house and take in all the light. I'm sure they would give me a tan even in winter!
