• Spanish Colonial Cage Santo- “Bastidor”

cage_san.jpg This early 19th century Spanish Colonial Cage Santo, more commonly known as Santa Maria “Bastidor” is indeed a work of art. The design is quite eccentric, which features an original boat-shaped cage base, inset glass eyes and articulated arms that are joined at the elbow and shoulders, tiny hair eyelashes and a silver-crown standing nearly two feet tall. The manner in which the “Bastidor” could be attributed to religious connotation or one’s own personal perception. Nevertheless, I can’t stop thinking of keeping my cute little Dove inside this figurine, no offence folks!

Spanish Colonial Cage Santo retails for $7,500.
