Aston Martin has partnered with British bicycle manufacturer J.Laverack to introduce what is being touted as the most innovative bicycle in the world. Called the J.Laverack Aston Martin .1R, the two-wheeled Aston Martin is described by both brands as the world’s most bespoke, advanced, and meticulously engineered road bicycle featuring a number of world firsts. Conceived in the same studios as Aston Martin’s cars, the .1R features a ‘visually boltless’ design that’s free of any kind of clutter, including fixing points and ugly welding marks. If you look closely, you’ll notice the exquisitely designed bicycle has no exposed cables or holes. To set new standards of elegance and beauty, the .1R uses a unique combination of parametrically designed, 3D-printed titanium lugs and carbon fiber tubes.

The ultra-sleek design of the .1R not only benefits from the set principles in the bicycle industry but also draws inspiration from the supercars and hypercars produced by Aston Martin. The 40-micron thin badge on the bicycle uses the same process used for making the badge on the multi-million Aston Martin Valkyrie. On the other hand, Valkyrie’s wheel design is mirrored in the titanium piston caps of the .1R’s brakes. Furthermore, the pierced stem is visually inspired by the side strake on the Aston Martin DB12.
The highlight of the J.Laverack Aston Martin .1R will be a bespoke build, created to the exact measurements of the buyer. The customer will be invited to visit Aston Martin’s headquarters in Gaydon, where they will experience a personalized fitting session with J.Laverack’s founders. Furthermore, an online configurator will help them choose materials and the color of the bike’s tubes, lugs, forks, stem, seat post, and handlebar. Aston Martin has not revealed the number of units of the .1R that will be produced, nor has it commented on the pricing. J.Laverack’s non-custom frames can cost around $5600, but we won’t be surprised If the Aston Martin bicycle costs north of $30,000.
