It been 20 golden years since the record-breaking and suave Michael Schumacher (Mercedes GP Petronas) made his Formula 1 debut. And celebrating this milestone achievement, the 42-year old will be presented with a solid gold helmet courtesy of Schuberth. The special “Golden Twenties” helmets can also be yours for keeps to be presented at the Grand Prix of Spa-Francorchamps. Schuberth would come out with twenty gold-plated 1:1 replica helmets celebrating each year of his feat, alongside gold-painted replicas as well that you can buy online. Designed and hand-painted by Schumacher´s designer Jens Munster, the helmets come to you with a signed certificate of authenticity.
Plated with 21-carat gold, the graphics on the helmet sports graphics like “a dragon with the Chinese letter for strength written below it, a Monster energy drink logo” and other images that celebrate the iconic racer dram run. Schuberth will donate the proceeds of the sales to the FIA “Action for Road Safety” campaign. The campaign is aimed to reduce the number of traffic fatalities worldwide by 2020.
