Exquisite Stock Saddle as used by Nicole Kidman in 'Australia'
Remember Baz Luhrmann’s sweeping epic romance Australia starring Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman set in the times of World War II? You probably remember it for its stunning landscapes and cinematography, but we've decided to mention it for other reasons. We thought its about time we stole the limelight from all the other aspects of the film and gave it to the stock saddle as used by Nicole’s aristocrat Lady Sarah Ashley. It's not a cheap knock-off, it's the real deal in the form of a replica. It's the result of the collaboration between production and costume designer Catherine Martin and R.M.Williams, the famed bush outfitter. They've brought to the market a bunch of clothes inspired from the movie and other such fashion replicas from this period flick. It's said that, “The Australia stock saddle seen in the film was a new and cutting edge design during the period of the film, denoting the owner’s wealth and noble stature.
