Talk about being the talk-of-the-town! As repeatedly said, the best way to garner some publicity is to add shock-value and everyone's going to be talking about you till kingdom-come. Lending the security a helping hand or should we say hiss…is an Egyptian cobra. It had been brought in to guard a 62,000 pound ( $120,000) pair of ruby- sapphire- and diamond-encrusted Rene Caovilla sandals at Harrods. A spokeswoman for Harrods admitted that the cobra had been hired strictly for Monday' s launch of the shoe collection, "The snake has now been returned to its owner," she said.

All those scared of creepy crawlies can safely return to shopping at Harrods again.
