You don't need the Midas touch to turn things into gold. In fact, you just need Compolite, a resin based composite material. It gives the deceptive appearance of gold. It's made from bi-products of other manufacturing processes and has the added benefit of also being 100% recyclable. You can choose the have the finish of Gold leaf in n pink, yellow or white.
