Marantz to release a superb amplifier and CD player
I'm quite excited to know that Marantz has announced the launch of its latest high-end amplifier and separate CD player. The amplifier is seriously impressive. The PM8003 stereo amplifier is capable of delivering 200 watts across two channels and it has an over-sized bespoke toroidal transformer. As if that is not enough it is made with carefully hand selected components including Shottky barrier diodes and Marantz's Hyper Dynamic Amplifier Modules. Sounds like one hell of an amplifier, doesn't it? If your ears could drool, I'm sure they would by now. I'll give some more reasons to admire this beast; it has functions like Source Direct, which bypasses the tone control circuitry, and Amp Direct, which allows the PM8003 to be used solely as a power amplifier. It is made from a solid metal chassis, with thick aluminum and reinforced glass fiber resin, and vibration is more or less fully eliminated. Pre-, power-, and volume-control circuitry is separated and shielded to prevent cross talk and interference. How cool is that! But enough about the amplifier, I can't let it hog all the attention. The SA8003 CD player is just as awesome.
I'll brief you in on the technical part of it. The CD player has a solid chassis, and features a rigid Zylon loading mechanism to get rid of vibration. It has a 24-bit/192kHz CS4398 DAC, bespoke capacitors, Shottky diodes, and Hyper Dynamic Amplifier Modules. You can expect the connections to be gold plated and there is a USB port as well as a remote control. Sounds like a fabulous rig. Oh and before I forget to mention, it plays Super Audio CDs as well as standard audio CDs. The Marantz CD player comes for $1,210 and the amplifier is for $1,090. They both look hot too. So go ahead and rock your party with this neat rig.
