Pirates of the Caribbean themed home theater is spooky

Constructing a home theatre is hard enough but to theme it on the conniving-ness of Captain Jack Sparrow is a totally different game. Owners Paul and Emily Konold weren’t paying a tribute to the movie Pirates of the Caribbean when the built their themed home theatre, they were simply trying to recreate the magic they experienced on the original ride at Disneyland. They have incorporated scenes from both the ride and the movie; there are arched murals painted with by a 13-year old artist and former student of Emily’s. A bar is placed at the back of the theater reminiscent of a true pirate watering hole.

The theatre features a 16:9 screen with a custom masking system to make the setup 2.35:1 (the format of all Disney movies).
