British company Very PC has come out with the Fulwood, a Mac Mini-sized desktop computer. The company claims that it uses just 16 watts when idling. If you remember the Shuttle X27 PC, it was low power too, but this baby beats it by a good 23 watts. That is saying a lot. Even though it is energy saving machine, the green PC has not compromised on performance. The Fulwood is capable of four times the performance of rival Intel Atom-based eco PCs according to very. The deal features n Intel P9500 2.5GHz dual core processor (not bad), 250GB hard drive, Intel x4500HD graphics card (fine for watching videos but not great for hardcore gaming), Vista Premium, and a DVD rewritable drive. That's definitely more than what my anything but green PC can do. Optional features include Wi-Fi, TV tuner and Bluetooth. With all these extras, the power draw shoots up to 19 Watts when idling. It looks pretty stylish, if looks are a concern to you. A little piece of trivia is that it is named after a prestigious suburb in Sheffeild, which is Very PC's hometown.
The Fulwood is available to pre-order from today that is 25th September. You'll get your hands on it mid October. The price varies from $1,055 to $2,052. A little expensive, but worth it for saving all the power it does.
