Who would've thought that a chair can replace a house? Well, I don't think that's exactly possible but designer Eduardo McIntosh has come up with a concept to put all the functions of a home into a single chair. This project is called Autonomous Living Unit and the idea is to provide for the basic needs of the 21st century human being.” This is done by installing furniture in derelict buildings and deserted housing projects. The project was showcased at an exhibition called Future Cities: Past, Present at the d3 gallery in New York last month. The chair looks like it is straight from the future. I don't know if I'm comfortable with letting a chair become my home, but it is great for those low on space. Also, this might be the dream of every couch potato. I reckon this concept can be used as a workstation too.
