Spiral Wine Cellar with a trapdoor

Spiral_Wine_Cellars_1.jpg I personally think Wine cellars are very romantic, however anything that has wine complimenting it can be romantic. But that's just my view! Still, you can't deny the fact that these Spiral Cellars with trap doors are like something right out of a book. It brings out the hopeless romantic in you. This idea was the brainchild of a Frenchman in 1978 who believed that wine needs to be stored well. This cellar uses the earth to insulate and create good storage conditions. The best part is that it doesn't require as much space as regular cellars. "A spiral cellar is dug into the floor by a professional team, and the cellar storage itself is created from concrete wrapped in a watertight lining. Passive ventilation keeps the temperature around 55°, an ideal temperature for wine storage. There are several sizes, holding from 1000-1600 bottles." Installing one of these Spiral Cellars in quite expensive at $30,000. But if you are a true lover of wine, you won't mind at all or maybe just a real hopeless romantic at heart.
