Yamaha's 'hybrid' Avant Grand piano is almost as good as the real thing
Maybe you don't have the space to get a nine foot acoustic grand piano, but want a similar feel and sound. Yamaha has the solution for this with its forthcoming "hybrid" Avant Grand. It is half the size and third the weight of a more traditional piano, but it packs four speakers that envelope the player in audio. Along with this, expect the keys to trigger a hammer that strikes a bar in order to replicate the feel hitting a chord. Of course, this has been dubbed 'hybrid', but it offers almost everything that makes a grand. You can get Yamaha's hybrid Avant Grand piano for $20,000.
