Marriott International to open Beijing Marriott Hotel City Wall

As the world’s most populous nation gets ready for the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, Marriot gears up with a new project! Marriott International is scheduled to open the doors of its 11th hotel, Beijing Marriott Hotel City Wall in Beijing in 2008. Authorizing an agreement with Beijing Huhua Real Estate Development Co., Ltd, the 19-story hotel will house 615 guest rooms. ‘We are very excited by the continued expansion of our portfolio in Beijing,’ said Ed Fuller, president and managing director of international lodging for Marriott International. The hotel’s outstanding location coupled with the excellent design quality envisioned for the hotel will contribute greatly to its future success.

The hotel will be part of a mixed-use development on a 9,000-square meter site about 1.5 kilometers west of the Beijing central business district and two kilometers east of Wangfujing, Beijing’s main shopping district. Beijing Marriott Hotel City Wall size, high-quality guestrooms, and extensive conference facilities will be a successful addition to Beijing’s hospitality infrastructure. Nearby are Beijing’s renowned Ming Dynasty City Wall Ruins Park and the city’s Embassy District in the Ritan Park area. Beijing has rapidly transformed into a vibrant, international metropolis offering tourist and business travelers alike a vast array of cultural and historical attractions as well as a huge concentration of commercial enterprises.
