Minus5 ice bar-The coolest experience in Auckland

A unique experience that will chill your bones and delight your senses. Designed and crafted by Canadian ice sculpturing firm, Ice Culture, the interior is inviting. Filled with marvellous ice carvings, the bar even has a statue of David and a life-size couch, which you can sit on and sip your cocktails. Feel like an Eskimo in Antarctic clothing considered necessary before venturing inside. This consists of a thick coat with a furry hood plus two pairs of gloves – the booties are optional. Created out of 18 tones of ice, there is no better way to spend 20 minutes than by experiencing Minus 5 whilst enjoying one of its famous vodka cocktails. Everything is made of ice, the walls, the bar, the sculptures, the seats and even … even the glasses that you enjoy our famous vodka-based cocktails in. All the candle holders and sculptures are also made of ice. They’re changed regularly, so there’s always something new. Soft blue hues complete the look, and pure ice curtains add to the ambience. Guests are recommended to stay inside for no longer than 20 minutes at a time as it is apparently colder than -5 degrees Celcius in there.

Set on the spectacular Princes Wharf under the web of the mystic from The Sky Tower there is no better place to spend a spare 30 minutes and experience the sheer brilliance of minus 5 degrees.
