100 million yen diamond-decorated mobile phone strap
A 100 million yen ($850,000) diamond-decorated mobile phone strap designed by famous Japanese jewelers Diaddict is displayed for New Year sales at the Nihombashi department store of Takashimaya Co. on January 2, 2007. The expensive, one of a kind strap for mobile phones is decorated with a 6.02-carat yellow diamond, a 0.61-carat blue diamond, a 0.36-carat pinkish diamond and a total of 2.10 carat in colorless diamonds. Many shoppers stopped to admire the beautiful diamond decorated strap. Takashimaya Co., Ltd was founded in 1829 in Kyoto by Iida Shinshichi as a retailer of used clothing and cotton cloth, the store now has outlets throughout Japan and also in New York, Taipei, Paris and Singapore.
Takashimaya Co., Ltd. is a large Japanese department store chain and was listed at #1197 on the Forbes Global 2000 list for 2006.
