We know wine matures in bottles beautifully over the years. However, this isn't the case with spirits. But the good news is that they don't deteriorate either. Therefore they have the potential to last for centuries if stored right. Sukhwinder Singh of The Whisky Exchange suggests that the following five modern malt whiskies will stand the test of time. First is Rosebank. It is 12 years old and is from the Flora & Fauna Series Distillery Release. It will cost you $74. Apparently Rosebank is a 'lost' distillery, so you'd better stock up quick, as the price will only go up. Next up is Port Ellen. It will cost you from anywhere between $253 to $673. Port Ellend comes from the island of Islay and this is one of the most reputable places for whisky. It is also a lost distillery and the price only keeps shooting up. We will be talking about Brora now. It is 30 years old and costs about
$329 to $396. Lost distillery too so I expect the price to move up. Its demand is huge and it is a recent discovery of collectors. Glenfarclas is 50 years old and it is available for $2,021. This is surprising as most 50 year old whiskies come for anywhere between $6,000 to $12,000 per bottle! Better get your hands on this one; it is an amazing deal.
Black Bowmore is 42 years old and it is the most expensive in the lot and sells for about $3,539. The whisky has achieved a cult status and the price is likely to rise. These 5 whiskies are what you should be investing in for good returns.
