The Salvation Army could not believe their luck when they realized that somebody had dropped, rather donated a 1908 Indian head coin (that has a face value of US$2.50) in their holiday kettle. The actual value could be well over $14000. The coin was enclosed in a protective plastic case. The Salvation Army plans to have the coin appraised and sold, possibly before the end of the holiday season. They usually collect about $80,000 through its kettle collections, but this year before the gold coin donation, the local group had raised about $34,000 already. We all know about the good work that these guys do, so Cheers to them and good deeds deserve such pleasant surprises.
