Louis Vuitton celebrates 100th anniversary of Pétanque with limited edition ball set

Pétanque is a form of boules where the goal is to throw hollow metal balls as close as possible to a small wooden ball called a cochonnet or jack while standing with the feet together in a small circle. This game is usually played in the South of France. In honor of the sport’s 100th anniversary, Louis Vuitton created a limited-edition Pétanque ball set. This exquisite collection was made in 2007, and it was so exclusive that it was reserved for VIP clients only and never made available to the public. A luxurious collection, each set includes a leather-encased set of nine monogrammed balls and a cochonnet, or jack. The Pétanque balls are made of monogrammed canvas and are weighted to give the feel of traditional metal pétanque balls. The pétanque balls reside in a natural leather case that has space for a score sheet and pencil. The case has LV embossed on the lower corner, rolled leather handles, and is lined in a soft, beige Alcantara lining.
