There is something very special planned for celebrating the first broadcast of the "Mobile Suit Gundam" animated television series. It is a mammoth 18-meter-tall, "full scale" Gundam statue that is under construction at the Shiokaze Park in Tokyo's Odaiba. At the moment, you can see that the lower half of the body that stands at a height of 11 meters has been completed and it looks extremely impressive. The other parts of the body like the head, arms and torse are currently being built and after completion they will all be assembled. This statue is going with be breathtaking as it will emit light or mist from 50 points of its body and move it's head. It's gigantic at the weight of almost 35 tons.

It's scheduled to go on display from July 11 to August 11 at the park free of cost. So, if you happen to be around, don't miss it. However, if you can't make it then you might want to celebrate the occasion by buying Swarovski embellished Gundam t-shirts.
