The Detroit Auto show will have lots to cheer about, as Mercedes plans to unveil its 2009 McLaren SLR Stirling Moss that promises to become the most attractive car in Cobo Hall. The car is sure to garner a lot of attention, as it will be the last car produced by Mercedes in partnership with McLaren. Each car will feature full carbon fiber bodywork wrapped over the standard version, a 650-hp supercharged 5.5-liter V8 and the five-speed automatic transplanted from the SLR 722. The Stirling Moss will be quite a speedster, achieving top speeds of 217 mph and reaching 100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds. There is neither a roof nor a windscreen to separate the driver and passenger from the outside world, letting them enjoy the thrills of this mean machine. The other features of this beauty include, "swing-wing" doors, a retractable air brake that can be operated manually, and a two-piece tonneau cover (stored in the trunk) that can cover the entire cockpit or just the passenger seat. Priced at €750,000($1,069,359) this baby is a limited edition restricted to only 75 units.
With great looks and equally amazing technology, this beauty is definitely a winner. This beauty is definitely the crowning glory to the model family of Mercedes- Benz and McLaren’s highly successful SLR super sports car.
