The most expensive paper mâché nun in the world is worth $1.2mn

The 6 emerging Canadian talents profiled by Edmonton Journal had one designer who came out to make it something as a prodigy. Designer Daniela Masellis is a theatre geek who spent 2007 in Milan at Teatro Alla Scala as a backstage apprentice and worked on the new Luca Ronconi 2008 Puccini Il Trittico. She envisioned the Suor Angelica (a gigantic papier-mâché nun that served as a catwalk for the cast) measured out to be $1.2mn. Apparently, the market price of papier- mâché must have soared up in 2007. This huge Madonna must make quite an art sensation!
