2008 Lexus LX 570 exposed

Elevated levels of comfort, style, and safety! That’s what 2008 LX 570 promises. Lexus unveiled the all-new 2008 LX 570 at the 2007 New York International Auto Show. The LX 570 will be equipped with a powerful 5.7-liter V8 engine that will produce 381 horsepower, over 110 more than the vehicle it replaces and over 400 lb.-ft. of torque. The engine will be mated to a new six-speed sequential-shift automatic transmission. The engine will be mated to a new six-speed sequential-shift automatic transmission. A new technology, multi-terrain ABS braking system, will help reduce skidding as well as stopping distances. What’s caught my attention is that this latest edition offers a new blind corner monitor feature designed for use in urban settings such as exiting a parking garage. After all any Tom can speed up but it’s the parking skills that rate you as a skillful driver. More images......

The overall wheelbase of the new LX 570 is unchanged from its predecessor, but interior and exterior length has increased by at least four inches and width by nearly an inch. Other luxurious amenities (obviously optional) includes climate controlled front seats and heated rear seats, a 19-speaker Mark Levinson audio system with Reference Surround Sound and a hard disc drive capable of storing up to 2,000 songs, a rear seat entertainment system with a nine-inch screen, the Lexus Intuitive Park Assist, a first-in-its-class Pre-Collision System with Adaptive Cruise Control and Lexus Link. Don’t rush to your sign for a cash withdrawal yet as this ‘caravan’ can be obtained only by early 2008 in U.S.

The thing is flawless. The luxury is understated. Also- people really overlook the curves on tail light guards of this new cars, which you can't fully appreciate just by looking at pictures.

There has to be a reason why the previous LX was called the most desirable full-size luxury SUV- understated luxury while being capable off-road, perhaps, since that model was Land Cruiser-based (more than I can say about the Escalade and Navigator, which are mere status-icons for soccer moms and rappers and the like). This LX 570 will be successful.
