Amen Design creates a chopper around hubless wheels
The guys at Amen Design have created a great chopper. This has been built around the hubless wheels by Franco Sbarro's. The hubless wheels work 'by fixing the rotating parts (brake ring, bearings, hubless rim) onto the outer side of a non-rotating inner ring that attaches to the motorcycle’s swingarm or forks.' This is advantageous in many ways. Firstly, it decreases unsprung weight, increases braking leverage, makes steering more accurate, reduces structural stress and there's a lower centre of gravity. But let's face it, while all this is good, it's really the looks that make they eye catching! I mean, the wheels have no spokes! The bike is mainly for style and that's all one should expect from it. It is sure to make head turns, but it bound it be high maintenance.
