BMW swings the electric way
Are electric cars the future? They must be since BMW has jumped on the bandwagon. The electric version of the Mini Cooper is looking good. The exclusive test program/publicity stunt will involve a limited run of 500 of the electric cars. These will be seen on the streets of Southern California and New York in January. It features 5,088 lithium ion batteries that power a 150kW electric motor. This makes for decent acceleration from 0 to 60 mph in 8.5 seconds. These go-kart like babies are going to be leased out to high profile customers for $850 per month. It's a cute little electric car that I wouldn't mind test-driving. Let's turn eco friendly.
