Gold-plated bus adds glamour to the roads of China

What at first seemed to be an enormous block of gold rolling around on wheels turned out to be a gold-plated bus in Nanjing, a Chinese city! The bus was plated with 24-karat gold leaf and seemed to be a mass-transit vehicle good enough for a prince. Called the Golden Bus, a somewhat uncreative name for the glorious bus, this one was put up for a promotion by a jewelry store in Nanjing. Costing a sweet 200,000 yuan (about $30,800), 60% of the bus is covered in gold leaf while the rest is made up of glass. The bus’s interiors remain the same, without any modifications being done for promotional buses, and will continue on its old route, surprising passengers daily till the promotion finally ends. This bus seems to be one of those vehicles you probably wouldn’t ever want to have stolen, even in your worst nightmares.
