• Spread a smile with Joyrider bicycle

Joyrider-smile-cycle.jpg Remember how much fun cycling used to be as kids? As we grow people seem to forget how much joy a simple thing like taking out your bicycle and going for a long ride can bring. LED expert Moritz Waldemeyer has put some lights on a bike called Joyrider that illuminates the spokes. The lights are arranged in a pattern. They resemble a happy smiling face. He seems to be doing his bit to promote cycling. Each wheel uses one LED that's set to strobe, with a microchip built into each that will tell the light how fast the wheel is spinning and when to flash the lights. So basically you control the smiling faces. I guess I can use Tom Cruise's line here, 'Do you feel the need? The need for speed!'

Of course, you can't see the happy face yourself while riding the Joyrider bicycle, but you can do your bit to spread happiness in this otherwise mean and gloomy and dreary world! These bicycles were showcased at ICA Gala 2008 and they fetched over $3,600.
