The Hov Pod SPX 120 Turbo has been added to UK based Reaction International Ltd.'s line of personal leisure hovercraft. You will find superb performance and range through its 120 HP 4 stroke Weber engine. It is a pretty cool machine as it hovers about 9 inches above absolutely any surface, be it snow, ice, water, sand or mud. Sounds ready for every type of terrain and weather! It is capable of holding a ton of weight and this makes it ideal for commercial, patrol and rescue use. In case you are in a hurry, it can reach speeds of about 50mph over water. High impact polyethylene is used in the Hov pod SPX and it has a built-in buoyancy composite layer. The PE can endure knocks while air feed holes allow air to feed into segmented skirts to allow the craft to hover on its cushion of air. The two other models are the SPX 65 model with a Rotax (582) 65 HP 2-stroke engine and the SPX 72 version with a Weber 72 HP 4-stroke engine. The specifications are : 'All models seat three adults, weigh 310 Kg, measure 11.9-feet long by 6.1-feet wide, hover at a height of 9-inches and are able to reach speeds of 40 – 45mph on water with a cruising speed of 20mph.' The main target of SPX is the leisure and rental market. We can think of many ways that it can benefit society, but come on. It's a hovercraft and has 'fun' written all over it.
