The new 2013 Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG V12 Roadster is all set to be launched at this year’s New York Auto Show. Featuring an AMG 6.0-liter V12 Biturbo engine and an all-aluminum body-in-white and carbon body makes it 254 pounds lighter than its predecessors, the SL550 roadster and the SL63 AMG roadster. The car boasts of an AMG SPEEDSHIFT PLUS 7-Speed transmission system that can hit 0 to 60 mph in 3.9 seconds, with top speeds of 186 mph. While the electric parking brake is standard equipment, you can also opt for an AMG carbon-ceramic brake system. The car can range from a roadster to a coupe in less than 20 seconds thanks to its retractable hard-top with MAGIC SKY CONTROL.
On the inside, you can catch electrically adjustable AMG sports seats with “one or two-color upholstery in exclusive leather featuring AMG-specific V12 diamond stitching”, which can also be seen on the center door panels. The back seats feature the AMG logo embossed along with the AIRSCARF neck-level heating, the multi-contour function, seat memory, and seat ventilation as a part of the standard setup. The headliner in leather sports an AMG V12 diamond stitching for better ergonomics.
The car is said to be available in Black, Shadow Grey (matte finish), Dolomite Brown, Mars Red, Steel Grey, Iridium Silver, Palladium Silver, Pearl Beige, Diamond White, and Lunar Blue hues. Custom jobs include Obsidian Black, among others from the SL65 AMG designo range, and paint jobs such as Two matte paint finishes designo Magno Cashmere White and designo Magno Alanite Grey and the metallic paints designo Mocha Black and designo Graphite.
As for the interiors, you can pick from Black Exclusive Leather, Beige/Brown Exclusive Leather, Red/Black Exclusive Leather, Porcelain/Black Exclusive Leather. Trim is available in Carbon FiberBrown Poplar Wood (satin finish), Burl Walnut Wood and Black Ash Wood.
