The world’s oldest Bentley, 1921 3-litre ‘Chassis Number 3’ goes under the hammer

How much do you love the brand you drive? If you are an avid Bentley collector then you can’t miss this one at all! The oldest known Bentley, roughly 90 years old, will go under the hammer at Pebble beach. Originally picked up by Noel Van Raalte (chassis number 3 registered AX 3827 in the UK) for £1,150 back then. Chassis number 3 is one of the original 3-Litre by founder W. O. Bentley that won “24 Hours of Le Mans endurance race in 1924 and 1927, the start of an epic run of five Bentley victories in eight years”. The Gooding & Co. auction conducted the auction, and the vehicle is sold for $962,500, including 10 percent of the buyer’s premium.
