The £230,000 ($368,000) dress would be on display at Harrods as a part of their Crystal Christmas event. The dress has been designed by Ralph & Russo and draws its inspiration from the “decadence of the Twenties”, and will be placed as the centrepiece of the department store’s Swarovski-sponsored window displays, alongside the sparkling “crystal forest”.
Ralph & Russo creative director Tamara Ralph said, “This is the first time we have ever used so many crystals on a single gown – a total of 152,000 to be precise! The gown took hundreds of hours to create and more than 25 couturiers to hand make, but we are extremely pleased with the finished gown and it really sets off the window nicely.”
