LG and Prada will offer Iconic mobile phones

Just about every cell phone today can make calls, take grainy photographs, power postage-stamp-size video games, and browse a toned-down version of the web. But over the years, of the thousands of phones manufactured around the world, only a select few can qualify as iconic: a special blend of functionality and design, marketing, and style. LG Electronics and Prada reveal plans of an exclusive partnership to make an iconic cell phone. This first Prada offspring by LG will combine high-end technology with avant-garde design offering the best in both style and performance. The highlight of the phone is that it will have an advanced touch interface which eliminates the conventional keypad.

Intended to set off in early 2007, it’ll first debut in Europe, followed by countries in Asia such as Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Singapore. The Korean version of the phone is scheduled to launch in the second quarter of 2007.
