Swarovski Star with 25,000 crystals to adorn the 2012 Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree


For the ninth time, the Swarovski Star will glam up the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree. We have wowed over this annual ritual in 2009, 2010 and 2011. This year too the much-awaited 2012 Swarovski Star for the iconic Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree will be unveiled on November 20th. Decked with 25,000 crystals, with 1,000,000 facets, the star will swell to 9 ½ feet in diameter and 1 ½ foot deep. It is expected to weigh 550 pounds which will include 300 pounds of crystal panels. The 80th Rockefeller Center Tree Lighting Ceremony will be held on November 28th, and viewers can take a look at the majestic tree till January 7, 2013. And to get a closer detailed view of the Swarovski star, a replica of the same will be on display in Rockefeller Center.

To celebrate the festive season, Swarovski will also offer a collection that will consist of star-themed crystal jewelry and an Annual Edition Ornament inspired by the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Star design. This selection of holiday jewelry and ornaments will be up for sale at the Swarovski holiday kiosk at Rockefeller Center as well as at Swarovski boutiques nationwide and online too.
