World’s most expensive hot dog sells for $1501 for a good cause

Hot dog war heats up as we see commoner’s affordable snacks get pricier. The crown of the most expensive hot dog had shifted from the $69 recipe from Serendipity 3 restaurant to Brockton Rox’s $80 offering. These two records were recently smashed by the $100 Dragon Dog from DougieDog’s menu. But it doesn’t end here. Along with the temperature rise, we are also finding it difficult to cope with the steep rise in the value of the most expensive hot dog. For $1,501, Hot Dog Mike’s Juliano has dished out “theONEdog,” which is a hot dog with lobster tails, gold flakes, saffron, and premium beef. These gold-dusted, lobster-topped hot dogs benefit the One, a non-profit that provides aid to local homeless people.

Juliano had tweeted his idea about a month ago which resulted in pushing the bidding price up to $1,500. Of the six such pricey hot dogs available for purchase at the event, four were already sold at the time of reporting.
