World’s most expensive stamp estimated at $7.4 million

Records are set to be broken, and such is the case about the world’s most expensive stamp. For £5million ($7.4 million), a 1855 Treskilling Yellow Swedish stamp has surpassed the record-breaking $331,000 Chinese stamp belonging to Qing Dynasty. All set to be auctioned in Switzerland’s coming week, the stamp is on display at the Festival Of Stamps in Islington, London. It is also the most valuable item in the world by weight as it is just 0.03 grams, but its estimated price and a $14million insurance policy make it more valuable than its weight in diamonds. And to believe that sometimes mistakes are valued more, you need to know that this rare stamp got its yellow shade by mistake.
