$150million Manor House is most expensive home in USA


With the growing prices of living in USA, it is but obvious to expect the real estate prices to be sky high as well. And to show you just how highly-priced some homes in this land, here is a list compiled by MSN of the most expensive homes in the USA. Topping the list is Manor house. Priced at $150 million, this house owned by late television producer Aaron Spelling was put for sale by his widow Candy Spelling in 2008. Besides being the most expensive home in the USA, this home spread over 56,500-square-feet is also the most expensive home in the world.

In second place is Fleur de Lys, another lush property valued at $125million and situated just a few blocks away from the Manor house. Listed in 2007, this 35,000-square-foot home modeled after Versailles is located in Beverley Hills, California. Owner Suzanne Saperstein hasn’t compromised on the price in three years and hopes this house featuring 12 rooms and 15 bathrooms will find a buyer.
Number three is Tranquility Estate, owned by Tommy Hilfiger co-founder Joel Horowitz. Located on Lake Tahoe, this plush 210-acre spread features the third-highest price tag in America, i.e., $100 million! The home has been on the market for almost four years.
Coming in at number four is Kaiser Estate in Honolulu, with a market price of $80million. The island getaway offers coastal views and a sleek, midcentury-style 15,000-square-foot home, extensively landscaped tropical grounds, and a 12,000-square-foot boathouse and marina. The estate has been put up for sale by Fred Chan and his wife in 2009.
At number five is a unique named home, the Humming Bird Nest Ranch. Spanning over 123 acres, this property located in Simi Valley, California, boasts a market price of $75million. The 17,000-square-foot Spanish-Revival-style main house also features a helipad and has been on the market since 2007!
