Piaget Protocole XXL Dragon commemorates the Chinese new year


It is the Dragon’s Chinese year, and Piaget has decided to celebrate it with the Dragon and Phoenix collection. The collection will feature 24 models “worthy of the spirit of this celebrated couple.” The Dragon year is important to the Chinese as it is said to be one of the most ancient and sacred totems that stands for “the highest achievements of Chinese civilization.” The limited-edition Piaget Dragon Protocole XXL comes in an 18-carat white gold case encrusted with 32 brilliant-cut diamonds weighing around 0.1 carats. Inside the case lies the 18-carat white gold dial set with 37 brilliant-cut diamonds weighing around 0.1 carats with “grand feu enamel mixing the champlevé and miniature techniques, hand-engraved and grey enamel dragon design.”

The sapphire crystal case-back of the Piaget Protocole XXL also sports a Chinese dragon, this time as a silver ideogram. Running with the Piaget 830P mechanical hand-wound movement, the watch is finished with a grey alligator leather strap sporting an 18-carat white gold folding clasp. The watches are limited to just three units.
