The Ulysse Nardin Skeleton Tourbillon flaunts itself at the BaselWorld 2013

There have been umpteen numbers of makes from the house of Swiss watch manufacturer Ulysse Nardin: The Black Sea watch, the Stranger, which is known to be the world’s first musical wristwatch, the Freak Limited Edition, that mesmerized us and took away our hearts. The most recent entrant that has been unveiled at BaselWorld 2013, under the Ulysse Nardin label, is the Skeleton Tourbillon, the first of its kind in the Ulysse catalog with a skeleton caliber fully developed and manufactured in-house.

Being one of its kind, the watch would be produced as a limited edition, a total of 198 pieces, of which 99 would be in 18kt Rose Gold and the remaining in Platinum. As per its make, the case measuring 44mm would be either in rose gold or platinum, with an AR-coated sapphire crystal and a sapphire display back. The watch has a naked dial, with a direct peek into the complexities of the watch – spiked wheels and other mechanisms. The watch sports an in-house caliber UN170 with 23 jewels, 18,000vph, and a power reserve of 170 hours. A feature-packed wristwatch, the Skeleton Tourbillon also flaunts an engraved wheel with its brand name, insignia, and power reserve. The watch is also water-resistant up to 30 meters.
